General

The left front door control unit is connected to the passenger compartment CAN bus for exchanging data.

Task

The left front door control unit reads in the following sensors and switches, actuates their function and instrument illumination if applicable and switches following loads via semi-conductor switches

Controlling and switching loads via semi-conductor switches

Reads in the following sensors

Reading in the following switches:

Signal inputs and outputs

Switch functions via front door LIN

The driver power window, outside mirror and trunk lid switch group and the left front seat operation switch group as well as the left interior CL switch are connected with the left front door control unit via front door LIN.

Thermal protection for left front power window motor

The left front door control unit calculates the actuation duration, operating voltage, RPM of the left front power window motor as well as the outside and inside temperature at the bearing points on the left front power window motor to protect the left front power window motor.

When a temperature of T = 85 °C is reached, the left front power window motor is actuated only as long as the request is present or the end position is reached.

During automatic raising it is still possible to reverse directions when the overload protection force limitation is actuated. It is possible to reactuate the left front power window motor after a cooling phase calculated by the left front door control unit.
