REPLACING INFORMATION

Control Modules Software
  • "Old" control modules: A 221 870 72 85 and A 221 870 78 86
  • "Old" software releases: 05/04 and 05/27

Control modules with software released 05/04 can only be updated to software release 05/27. Repinning must not be carried out in this case.

  • "New" control modules: A 221 870 61 85 or current control module
  • "New" software releases: 05/24 or current release
NOTE: The repinning procedure should only be done in the case of complaint. If the trunk control is operative, the trunk control module must not be replaced.
WARNING: Do not disconnect the negative battery cable. Extensive reprogramming requirements are otherwise necessary. Wiring harnesses are therefore electrically active.

Severe vehicle damage, personal injury, or death from electrical shock could result.

Exercise extreme caution while executing these installation instructions. Keep the ignition and radio powered OFF through the final test.
