Lumbar support regulator control unit, component description - GF91.29-P-5263LE

Location 

The lumbar support regulator control unit is installed in the corresponding seat backrest frame behind the backrest trim in the lumbar cushion insert.

Task 

• Regulation of air cushion pressure in lumbar cushion of respective front seat controlled by left front seat control unit (N32/1) or by right front seat control unit (N32/2)
• Reading-in and forwarding of signals of integrated pressure sensor to the respective seat control unit

These are grouped as follows:

• Reading in of switches, sensors and signals 
• Actuation of components

Input factors via direct connections:

• Circuit 30g
• Circuit 31
• "Deflate" control signal
• "Inflate" control signal
• Pressure sensor signal

The control of the air cushions via the pressure regulating valve integrated into the lumbar support regulator control unit and the evaluation of the pressure signal are taken over by the corresponding seat control unit. All signals are therefore simply looped through to the seat control unit, which takes over the entire evaluation and control.

Actuation of components 

The following component in the lumbar support regulator control unit is actuated via a direct line from the corresponding seat control unit:

• Pressure regulating valve.

The control of the air cushions via the pressure regulating valve integrated into the lumbar support regulator control unit and the evaluation of the pressure signal are taken over by the corresponding seat control unit. All signals are therefore simply looped through to the seat control unit, which takes over the entire evaluation and control.

Design 

A pressure sensor and a pressure regulating valve are accommodated in the housing of the lumbar support regulator control unit. This sensor is used to record and monitor pressure and is read in by the corresponding seat control unit. The air pressures in the cushions are also set by the respective seat control unit using the pressure regulating valve integrated into lumbar support regulator control unit. The lumbar support regulator control unit is connected to the corresponding seat control unit via a 6-pin connector. The power is also supplied by the respective seat control unit via this connector.
