Overheating/pinging protection, function engine 272 - GF07.61-P-4027V
ENGINE 272.942 in MODEL 171
ENGINE 272.963 in MODEL 171
Shown on ENGINE 272
The task of the overheating/pinging protection is to prevent engine damage as a result of excessive thermal overload and overheating damage of the catalytic converters.
The heat output by the cooling system into the environment is mainly dependent on the fan speed, vehicle speed, outside temperature and coolant temperature.
The heat and engine output generated from it in the cooling system by combustion must be restricted so that the maximum permissible coolant temperature is not exceeded.
Here, the throttle valve is no longer fully opened. The air mass drops accordingly and less fuel is injected.
