System overview
Function
Using the Airscarf system, additional heating of the driver and passenger head area is possible in three stages.
The heated air emerges from an opening in the particular head restraint.
The system is controlled via the left AIRSCARF switch (N72/1s21) and the right AIRSCARF switch (N72/1s22), respectively, in the upper control panel control unit (N72/1).
The front HS [SIH], head area ventilation and steering wheel heater control unit (N25/7) controls the left head area ventilation heating element (R22/5), the left head area ventilation fan (M4/10) and the right head area ventilation heating element (R22/6) and the right head area ventilation fan (M4/11), respectively, in the particular seat backrests.
The selected heating stage is displayed by 3 LEDs in the left AIRSCARF switch (N72/1s21) and in the right AIRSCARF switch (N72/1s22).
The supply of heated air is dependent on the
- Selected heating stage (1, 2 or 3) and the
- Vehicle speed (only with Vario roof open).
