With "tml. 15 ON", the CDI control unit (N3/9) switches the front SAM control unit (N10) on. The CDI control unit supplies the signal for preglowing to the glow output stage (N14/3) through a serial interface.

The electric fuel pump (M3) is switched on via the rear SAM control unit (N10/8) and the fuel pump relay (F4kO). If the engine is not started, the fuel pump is switched off again after approx. 3 s.
