Manual drive mode selection, function - GF27.60-P-3011NT
TRANSMISSION 722.9 in MODELS 211, 219 except CODE (428) Steering wheel shift buttons
With the selector lever and the transmission mode switch (S16/5) on the floor shift it is possible to adapt the automatic gearshift sequence to suit specific operating conditions.
Although the shift range can be changed in the forward gears while driving, the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) prevents an unacceptably high engine speed caused by a shift operation.
In position "C" (Comfort program) of the transmission mode switch (S16/5) a longer overall ratio is available compared with that in position "S" (Sports program) and thus a lower output torque for forward and rearward motion. This allows the vehicle to move off more gently. In addition, the gears are not driven to maximum revs.
