Function requirements for engine torque requests, general points

Engine torque requests, general points

The torque interface in the ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) coordinates and sets priorities for the requirements of all systems (according to drivability and priority setting), which determine engine torque requirement.

It also determines how dynamically each requirement is to be implemented.

The following systems can make an engine torque request:

Engine torque requests function sequence

According to the requirement dynamics, the ME-SFI control unit varies the engine torque by:

IMPORTANT Torque reserve

If the injection time is increased and the ignition angle is retarded at the same time, the engine torque remains the same at first. However, the engine torque can then be raised very quickly by advancing the ignition angle.
