Task

The Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive control unit is the evaluation and arithmetic unit of the sensor system for traffic area monitoring. It evaluates object information, radar sensor system object information as well as lane data of the multifunction camera.

The Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive control unit processes this information for the execution of the following functions:

Front collision warning system
Rear collision warning system
Autonomous partial braking and maximum full-stop braking
Distance control
Track guidance
Blind spot monitoring
Evasive steering support

The Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive control unit is connected via the suspension FlexRay (Flex E) to the network architecture of the vehicle.
