Location
The ECO button is located in the UCP control unit.
Task
The ECO button activated or deactivates the engine start/stop system (MSS). The MSS system is activated by operating the ECO button if the engine is running and the minimum speed of 2 km/h is subsequently exceeded. The MSS system is deactivated by operating the ECO button.
If the status of circuit 15 changes from "ON" to "OFF", the activate MSS system is also deactivated.
In order to re-activate the MSS system after switching off the MSS system through switching off of the ignition ("circuit 15 OFF" status), the ECO button must be actuated first.
Body
R The ECO button consists of a housing, an integral LED, a switching contact and a plug connection.
Function
ECO button is directly read in by the OBF control unit. The OBF control unit transmits the status of the MSS system via the interior CAN (CAN B), over the electronic ignition lock (EIS) control unit (N73), via the engine-CAN (CAN C) to the CDI control unit (N3/28) (for engine 651) or to the CDI control unit (N3/30) (for engine 642.8).
Operation of the ECO button can only then be read in by the OBF control unit of the engine hood switch (S62/41) reports the status "engine hood closed" to the SAM control unit (N10).
