TRANSMISSION 722.9 in MODEL 906
Sectional view of automatic transmission
Location
The electric controller unit, the valve housing (21b), the intermediate panel (21c) and the valve body (21d) are bolted to each other. The electric controller unit is installed under the transmission housing and is constantly flushed by transmission oil for cooling.
Design
The electric controller unit has a plastic supporting body (21a) and contains the following components:
- Turbine wheel RPM sensor (Y3/8n1)
- Internal transmission speed RPM sensor (Y3/8n2)
- Output speed sensor (Y3/8n3)
- Control unit (Y3/8n4) with integrated transmission oil temperature sensor (Y3/8s2)
- Selection range sensor (Y3/8s1)
- Working pressure control solenoid valve (Y3/8y1)
- Clutch control solenoid valve K1 (Y3/8y2)
- Clutch control solenoid valve K2 (Y3/8y3)
- Clutch control solenoid valve K3 (Y3/8y4)
- Brake control solenoid valve B1 (Y3/8y5)
- Brake control solenoid valve B2 (Y3/8y6)
- Brake control solenoid valve B3 (Y3/8y7)
- Torque converter lockup clutch control solenoid valve (Y3/8y8)
The conductor track film, which is inserted in the supporting body (21a), makes the connection between the electrical components and the
6-pin plug coupling (11).
Except for the solenoid valves all other electronic components are permanently connected with the conductor track film.
The connection to the cable set at the vehicle end is made via the 6-pin plug coupling (11) with a bayonet lock.

Function
The electric controller unit receives the various input signals and converts the control unit information into hydraulic functions.
