COMPLAINT

After flashing, a fault code is stored in the transmission control unit, the gear range may flash on the instrument cluster

NOTE: FC 0949 (The adaptation values of the wet start-up clutch (NAK) are outside the tolerance) stored in the electronic transmission control system on model series 216, 221 or 230, or FC 0949 (NAK end of line adaptation) stored in VGSNAG2 on model series 204, 212, 218.

CAUSE

Wet start-up clutch (NAK) not taught in

REMEDY

Teach in wet start-up clutch with Star Diagnosis/Xentry.

If this is not possible, perform the following operation steps:

Disconnect Star Diagnosis/Xentry
Connect trickle charger
Switch off all consumers (lights, radio, air conditioning etc.)
Move steering wheel to straight-ahead position
Operate service brake (also apply the parking brake)
Switch on ignition and wait for 20 sec.
Start engine
Engage gear range "D" and wait for approx. 5-10 minutes

NOTE: The teach-in process was successful if the gear range no longer flashes on the instrument cluster.
