Transmission Control Unit Part Identification in EPC
The EPC data cards for codes A17 and 28A may be missing for the above models, and as a result the incorrect part number will display for the dual clutch transmission fully integrated transmission control controller unit Y3/14), the dual clutch transmission fully integrated transmission control unit (Y3/14n4), or the entire dual clutch transmission.
Aside from the part number, there is no visible difference between the parts. However, there are currently three versions of fully integrated transmission control (VGS) in the field, and these are not interchangeable.
Refer to the quick test report to find the number of the currently installed dual clutch transmission fully integrated transmission control unit (Y3/14n4) (MB hardware object number), e.g. 005 446 33 10.
From this you can see which part number must be ordered in the event of replacement of the dual clutch transmission fully integrated transmission control controller unit (Y3/14) or the dual clutch transmission fully integrated transmission control unit (Y3/14n4) (see below Parts Information):
PARTS INFORMATION
| VGS Version Including VGS Part Number | Controller Unit Parts Kit Part Number | Controller Unit Part Number |
|---|---|---|
| VGS1 (FBS3) A 005 446 33 10 | TS controller unit A 000 270 27 00 | Controller unit A 246 370 17 01 |
| VGS2 (FBS3) A 005 446 36 10 | TS controller unit A 000 270 36 00 | Controller unit A 246 370 55 00 |
| VGS2 (FBS4) A 005 446 37 10 | TS controller unit A 000 270 39 00 | Controller unit A 246 370 48 02 |
When the dual clutch transmission is being replaced, the current part number of the dual clutch transmission can be found in VeDoc and ordered.
