Function requirements, general
- The supplemental restraint system must be programmed to the vehicle (left or right-hand drive vehicle, equipment programming and configuration parameters)
- Circuit 15R ON
The status of circuit 15R is sent by the electronic ignition lock control unit via chassis CAN (up to 31.5.13) or via chassis CAN 1 (as of 1.6.13) to the supplemental restraint system control unit.
After circuit 15R is switched off, parts of the supplemental restraint system remain active for a certain run-on time.
Capacitor:
The Supplemental Restraint System control unit provides a power reserve for at least t = 300 ms if the battery has been disconnected.
Supplemental Restraint System, general information
The supplemental restraint system is intended for occupant protection and, with code (U60) Pedestrian protection, also for pedestrian protection.
Belt locking system:
The belt is prevented from extending in certain situations, irrespective of the status of the supplemental restraint system.
