LED Matrix Control Unit, Basic Function - GF82.10-P-9891A
MODEL ALL (CAR) with CODE 640 (SAE dynamic LED headlamps, right-hand traffic)
MODEL ALL (CAR) with CODE 641 (Dynamic LED headlamps, left-hand traffic)
MODEL ALL (CAR) with CODE 642 (Dynamic LED headlamps, right-hand traffic)
Location
The LED matrix control units are located on the bottom of the respective front lamp unit.
The LED matrix control units are bolted onto the housing of the respective front lamp unit. The LED matrix control units are connected to the vehicle-side wiring harness via the front lamp units.
Task
The LED headlamps are equipped with "multibeam technology". The light sources for implementing the high beam function are each equipped with several LEDs that can be actuated independently of each other. Depending on which LEDs are actuated, the shape and, depending on the version of the LED headlamps, intensity of the light cone can be influenced.
The LED matrix control units are connected to the network architecture of the vehicle via the peripherals CAN (CAN PER).
The LED matrix control units actuate the following functions:
- Low beam
- High beam
- Thermal management (temperature monitoring and fan control)
To implement the exterior lighting functions, the LED matrix control units process, among others, the following information:
- Circuit status
- Temperatures in the front lamp units
- Switch on low beams request
- Switch on high beam request
- Object information for automatic high beam
- "Switch on fan motor" request
- Status of intelligent headlamp control (variable light distribution)
- Light distribution request, intelligent headlamp control (variable light distribution)
The LED matrix control units process these input factors and send, among others, the following information:
- Low beams status
- High beam status
- Light distribution status
- "Show display messages" request
