	Remove/install
1	Read out variant coding of the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)
		When replacing ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) Connect up diagnostic system and read data from ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) in diagnostic system. : Transfer stored data to new ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).	AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2	Remove ENGINE cover (3)
3	Remove ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) with ball bearing of support (4) upwards out of the support (4) on intake manifold
4	Detach connectors (2a, 2b) and detach from ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)
5	Detach all supports (4) from ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N310)	When replacing ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) Ball head support to control unit	*BA07.08-P-1001-01A
6	Install in the reverse order
7	Perform sensor rotor adaptation with diagnostic unit	When installing new control unit ME-SFI N310 Menu guidance: ENGINE control unit Adaptations Teach-in processes
8	Release transport protection on ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)	When installing new control unit ME-SFI N310
9	Personalize and activate ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)	When installing new control unit ME-SFI N310
	Check
	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when ENGINE running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the ENGINE while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
