- Function
General
The engine oil pressure and temperature sensor monitors the oil pressure and the temperature of the engine oil.
Location
The engine oil pressure and temperature sensor is located on the combustion engine in the center of the crankcase.
Function
A piezoresistive sensor element and electronics system for signal boosting and temperature compensation are integrated on a micromechanical chip. The pressure and temperature of the engine oil are routed via a connection fitting to the underside of the diaphragm of the sensor element, where it is measured. With the integration of the cap chip, the engine oil pressure and temperature sensor is used to measure absolute pressures. The engine oil pressure and temperature sensor sends the ascertained data to the combustion engine control unit.
