SERVICE INFORMATION
- Always use the latest XENTRY Diagnosis software release with all available add-ons.
- Make sure to follow the operation steps exactly as described in XENTRY Diagnosis.
- Use a battery charger to ensure sufficient power supply of the vehicle on-board electrical system battery (greater than 12.5 V).
- If XENTRY Diagnosis is already connected to the vehicle, start with Work Procedure Step 2 .
If two or more software updates or SCN codings are performed during one workshop visit, operation items 02-4762 and 02-5058 may be invoiced only once for each workshop order .
WORK PROCEDURE
- Connect XENTRY/DAS.
- Update Engine Electronics
control unit software.
To do this, select menu item "Quick test view → Motor electronics 'CR43' for combustion engine 'OM651' (CDI) → Adaptations → Control unit update → Updating of control unit software".
Then follow the user guidance in XENTRY Diagnosis.
The "fully integrated transmission control" (VGS) and "selective catalytic reduction" (SCR) control units are updated in the background automatically if a more up to date software is available.
- Disconnect XENTRY/DAS.
