Component Description For Starter-Alternator - GF15.40-P-2103RFM
Model 205, 253 with engine 264 with code B01 (48V technology)
Shown on engine 264
Location
The starter-alternator is located at the side on the engine.
Tasks
The starter-alternator contains a power electronics part via which the operating mode is set. Internal actuation of the power electronics determines how much electrical energy the starter-alternator generates or consumes.
The starter-alternator has the following further tasks:
- Reading in of sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Sending signals
Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Hybrid CAN (CAN L)
Direct line
The circuit 30c signal (crash signal) is read in via a direct line.
Hybrid CAN
Among others, the starter-alternator reads in the following signals via the hybrid CAN:
- Permissible current and voltage limits
- Mode
Evaluation of input factors
The integrated microprocessor evaluates the input factors read in.
Sending signals
Among others, the starter-alternator transmits the following signals via the hybrid CAN:
- Alternator utilization
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
