Remove/Install Left Front Knock Sensor - AR15.12-P-2186MRI

Engine 264 in model 205, 253

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts. Deburr repair panels. AS00.00-Z-0017-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove air filter housing.   AR09.10-P-1150MRI
2 Remove center and rear sections of lower engine compartment lining.   AR61.20-P-1105LW
3 Remove starter-alternator coolant pump (M43/4) and electric coolant pump 2 (M43/1) with the bracket. Engine 264 in model 205, 253 with code B01 (48V technology) AR20.10-P-1282MRI
4 Release and disconnect electrical connection (3).    
5 Unclip electric line from charge-air distributor.    
6 Remove screw (1) and remove knock sensor (A16/1). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, knock sensor to crankcase *BA15.10-P-1001-02H 
7 Install in the reverse order.    
  Concluding tasks     
8 Connect vehicle diagnosis system, read out fault memory and clear if necessary.    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
WARNING Risk of burn injuries  suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation  and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury 
(bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it i running.
Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
9 Conduct engine test run while checking for proper operation of the engine.
