Remove/Install Left Front Knock Sensor - AR15.12-P-2186MRH

Engine 264 in model 213, 238, 257

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove air filter housing.   AR09.10-P-1150MRH
2 Remove center and rear sections of lower engine compartment lining. Engine 264 in model 213, 238 AR61.20-P-1105LWE
    Engine 264 in model 257 AR61.20-P-1105FR
3 Remove belt-driven starter alternator coolant pump with bracket. Engine 264 in model 213, 238, 257 with code B01 (48V technology)  
      AR20.10-P-1282MRH
4 Release and disconnect electrical connection (3).    
5 Unclip electric line from charge-air distributor.    
6 Remove screw (1) and remove knock sensor 1 (A16/1). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, knock sensor to crankcase *BA15.10-P-1001-02H 
7 Install in the reverse order.    
8 Read out and delete fault memory.

WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
9 Perform an engine test run and check the engine for proper function.
