Heated Windshield, Function - GF67.10-P-0002GW
Model 463 (except 463.342) as of model year 2013 up to model year 2019 with code F49 (Heated windscreen)
Model 463.342 with code F49 (Heated windscreen)
Function requirements, general
- No undervoltage or overvoltage
- Terminal 15 ON
The electronic ignition lock control unit transmits the status of circuit 15 via interior CAN to the climate control and operating unit.
Heated windshield, general
The climate control and operating unit controls the heated windshield function.
The heated windshield function comprises the following partial functions:
- Manually switching on/off heated windshield
- Automatically switching off heated windshield
Manually switching on/off heated windshield
The heated windshield function is operated via the windshield heater button.
Vehicles except code E11 (Stealth light with convoy marking):
The function is ended upon pressing the windshield heater button.
To confirm the function, the LED in the windshield heater button is switched on when the function is switched on.
Vehicles except code E11 (Stealth light with convoy marking):
The lower control panel control unit reads in the status of the windshield heater button directly and sends it via the center console switch LIN, SAM control unit and the interior CAN to the automatic air conditioning control and operating unit.
Model 463.342 with code E11 (Stealth light with convoy marking):
The climate control and operating unit transmits the status of the heated windshield to the upper control panel control unit via the interior CAN, SAM control unit and center console switch LIN.
Model 463.342 with code E11 (Stealth light with convoy marking):
The lower control panel control unit reads in the windshield heater button directly and sends it via the stealth light LIN, stealth light control unit, center console switch LIN, SAM control unit and the interior CAN to the automatic air conditioning control and operating unit.
The climate control and operating unit then directly actuates the heated windshield via the heated windshield relay.
The control and operating unit for the climate control transmits the status of the status of the heated windshield to the lower control panel control unit via the interior CAN, SAM control unit, center console switch LIN, stealth light control unit, and stealth light LIN.
The lower control panel control unit actuates the LED in the windshield heater button accordingly.
Automatically switching off heated windshield
The heated windshield is switched off automatically depending on the outside temperature:
- Outside temperature below 10 °C, operating time 10 min
- Outside temperature below 20 °C, operating time 4 min
- Outside temperature below 30 °C, operating time 2 min
- Outside temperature above 30 °C, operating time 1 min
When the heated windshield is operated three times, the operating time is reduced to 5 min.
The outside temperature is recorded by the outside temperature sensor. The SAM control unit reads in the signals of the outside temperature sensor directly, calculates the outside temperature and sends this via interior CAN to the automatic air conditioning control and operating unit.
