Ignition OFF, general points 

With the ignition OFF, first the engine and then the engine management are switched off in the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).

Function sequence for ignition OFF 

F58k For ignition OFF, the electronic ignition lock control unit sends the request the to switch off the circuit 15 relay (N73R) is by via interior CAN (CAN B) and the SAM control unit (N10), upon which the circuit 15 relay is switched. The electronic ignition lock control unit transmits the status of the circuit 15 OFF via chassis CAN 1 (CAN E1), powertrain control unit (N127) and Drivetrain CAN (CAN C) to the ME-SFI [ME] control unit. The ME-SFI [ME] control unit then directly deactivates the fuel pump (M3) via the fuel system control unit (N118) and the fuel injectors for cylinders 1 to 8 (Y76/1 up to Y76/8) and ignition coils for cylinders 1 + 2 up to cylinders 7 + 8 (T4 up to T4/3) via the drive CAN. The engine stops and the computer run on is started.
