Remove/Install Engine Oil Fill Level Sensor - AR18.40-P-5116MFG

Engine 139 in model 118, 177, 247

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Drain engine oil and catch in a suitable container. Engine 139 in model 118, 177, 247  
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   Engine 139 in model 118, 177
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install lower engine compartment paneling after leak test.

2 Release and disconnect electrical connector (2).    
3 Remove screws (1). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Oil level switch at oil pan *BA18.40-P-1001-01I 
4 Remove engine oil fill level sensor (B40/6). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing ring.  
5 Install in the reverse order.    
6 Read out and delete fault memory.    
REFER TO DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06MFA
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
7 Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.    
8 Install lower engine compartment lining.   AR61.20-P-1105MFR
