General
The electric controller unit for fully integrated transmission control switches the transmission to limp-home mode in the event of failure or malfunction of individual components and control units.
Function
The electric controller unit for fully integrated transmission control monitors the status of transmission control using sensors, e.g. pressure and temperature sensors. If a component part relevant for switching is defective or can no longer be actuated, then the vehicle attempts to maintain driving comfort and the availability of critical components at the highest possible level using substitute signals and safety processors. Depending on the fault, it is possible that individual gears are locked or skipped. If continued driving can no longer be guaranteed, force release of the transmission is prioritized and coasting is possible. Under certain conditions, the driver is notified of the malfunctions optically and acoustically via the instrument cluster.
