Ignition OFF, general points
With the ignition OFF, first the engine and then the engine management are switched off in the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/34).
Function sequence for ignition OFF
In the case of ignition OFF, the electronic ignition lock control unit (EZS) (N73) transmits the request "circuit 15 OFF" via the interior CAN (CAN B) to the signal acquisition and actuation module control unit (SAM) (N10/1). This then switches off the circuit 15 relay (K40/10kR).
The "circuit 15 OFF" signal is routed redundantly to the ME-SFI [ME] control unit.
If the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/34) receives the signal "circuit 15 OFF" via the electronic ignition lock control unit (EZS) and the circuit 15 relay, the following components will be switched off and the computer run-on started:
- Fuel injectors (Y62)
- Ignition coils (T1)
- Quantity control valve (Y94)
- Fuel pump with fuel delivery module (M3/3). For this purpose, the ME-SFI [ME] control unit transmits the signal "fuel pump OFF" to the following control units:
- Fuel system control unit (FSCU) (N118) (Vehicles with code G42 (7G-TRONIC PLUS))
- Fuel system control unit (FSCU) (N118/9) (Vehicles with code G43 (9G-TRONIC))
This signal is transmitted redundantly by the ME-SFI [ME] control unit as a CAN signal via the drive CAN (CAN C) and as a direct ground signal. The fuel system control unit (FSCU) then deactivates the fuel pump with fuel delivery module.
If the computer run-on has ended, the circuit relay 87M (K40/10kN) is switched off and therefore the engine management.
The "circuit 31" ground connection is realized by the on-board electrical system battery (G1) via the battery ground point (W10) and several ground lines to the left front lamp unit (W9) ground point.
In the case of ignition OFF, the ME-SFI [ME] control unit is supplied with power by the on-board electrical system battery via "circuit 30 fused".
