Intake manifold pressure sensor (intake manifold pressure downstream of throttle valve)
Overview
This document contains information on:
- General
- Location
- Function
General
The intake manifold pressure sensor records the absolute pressure (intake manifold pressure) in the intake manifold. The intake manifold pressure is used by the combustion engine control unit to calculate the air mass.
Location
The intake manifold pressure sensor is located in the intake manifold in the air flow downstream of the throttle valve.
Function
The intake manifold pressure distorts the diaphragm that acts on the potentiometer. As a result, the potentiometer alters the resistance value, thus influencing the signal voltage, which provides the combustion engine control unit with information about the intake manifold pressure.
