General
The pressure sensor upstream of the throttle valve records the absolute pressure in the charge air pipe.
The absolute pressure acts on a piezoresistive sensor chip, whose electronics generate a signal voltage that is supplied to the combustion engine control unit.
Location
The pressure sensor upstream of the throttle valve is located in the charge air pipe upstream of the throttle valve actuator.
Function
The boost pressure distorts the membrane that acts on the potentiometer. This thus changes its resistance value, which influences the signal voltage that provides the combustion engine control unit with information on the boost pressure upstream of the throttle valve.
