Engine Run-On Function - GF07.10-D-2684TSA
Engine 651 in model 907
Function requirements for engine run-on, general points
- Circuit 87M ON (Engine management ON)
- Engine running.
- Transmission in neutral (with manual transmission)
- Selector lever position "P" (with automatic transmission)
- Parking brake operated.
- Vehicle speed signal = 0 km/h
- Engine run-on active.
- SSC not active.
Engine run-on, general points
The engine run-on function allows engine running with a removed transmitter key (A8/1) with simultaneous closing of the vehicle from the outside. The engine run-on serves to provide additional supply of power for electrical consumers such as the refrigeration units or special signal systems.
For active vehicles the ECO start/stop function must be deactivated temporarily for an active engine run-on.
Function sequence for the engine run-on
The function sequence is subdivided into the following steps:
- Activation of the engine run-on
- Status: engine run-on active
- Monitoring of the status: engine run-on active
Activation of the engine run-on
Activation of the engine run-on takes place by removing the transmitter key (/7) while simultaneously pressing the engine run-on button (S2/7) for 3 s. The activated condition is signalized by an LED in the engine run-on button (S27).
The transmitter key status is sent by the electronic ignition lock (EIS) control unit (N73/8) via the interior CAN (CAN B) to the parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit (N26/15).
As soon as the stated function requirements are not being fulfilled or a time outfall (message timeout) occurs, activation of the engine run-on is interrupted. Interruption occurs over the electronic ignition lock control unit (EZS).
Status: engine run-on active
In the status engine run-on active the central locking can be locked and unlocked for a removed transmitter key. If the locking takes place with the transmitter key (A8/1), actuation of the driver central locking inside door handle central locking switch (/5) or the front passenger central locking inside door handle switch (/6) is ignored by the electronic ignition lock control unit (EIS).
Monitoring of the status: engine run-on active
As soon as the named function requirements are not fulfilled or a timeout case (message timeout) arises, the engine run-on is interrupted. Interruption occurs over the electronic ignition lock control unit (EZS).
