Control Plan For Evaluation And Update
Control plans are critical to ensure the sustainability of a mentor program. TMC recommends the following elements for establishing mentor program control plan:
- Adjust management scorecards to reflect required outcomes of your program.
- Develop or add an operational audit to regional or district management tasks.
- Identify and formalize the process owner in the company.
- Create new and updated procedures based on the new mentor program.
- Create a process flow diagram and post it in your bays or shop employee break rooms.
- Design individual and team reviews based on requirements.
- Post performance results where and when appropriate.
- Evaluate the mentor's effectiveness
- trainee's quality of work
- trainee's rework
- trainee's retention rates
- trainee's productivity
Once a technician trainee graduates from the program, a mentor must still provide guidance. This should be done through a peer-to-peer relationship.
