Case Data Elements
Case data that is transmitted from customer to the service provide should contain the following data elements:
- Vehicle identification number (VIN)
- Asset information including in-service date for warranty consideration
- PO number
- Pending work
- Preventive maintenance (PM) status (e.g., date of last PM with mileage and next PM triggers - miles, hours and time)
- Operations and repair history.
- Telematics information, if available.
If the transmission is not initiated by the customer, the service provider may open a service repair maintenance (SRM) case in addition to the RO to facilitate sending annotation communications back and forth.
ISO 8601 can be used by anyone who wants to use a standardized way of presenting dates and times. It helps cut out the uncertainty and confusion when communicating internationally. The full standard covers ways to write:
- Date
- Time of day
- Coordinated universal time (UTC)
- Local time with offset to UTC
- Date and time
- Time intervals
- Recurring time intervals
ISO 8601 tackles this uncertainty by setting out an internationally agreed way to represent dates:
- YYYY-MM-DD
So, for example, November 4,2015 is represented as 2015-11-04. At UTC 2015-11-04T09:20:22Z (GMT), it is expressed also as:
Standard Time:
- 2015-11-04T09:20:22-5 (EST)
- 2015-11-04T09:20:22-6 (CST)
Daylight Saving Time
- 2015-11-04T09:20:22-4 (EDT)
- 2015-11-04T09:20:22-5 (CDT).
If no changes in the data have been made in the past 15 minutes, no update needed.
