Windows Registry Key Names
In order to prevent problems that could result from duplicate Windows Registry key names being used by different vendors, TMC recommends that the vendor name or an abbreviation of the vendor name be used or incorporated into the key name for the highest level key to be used in the Registry. The vendor is then free to create any key names within that Registry key. It is the responsibility of the vendor to take the appropriate steps to ensure uniqueness and consistency of key names within vendor Registry keys.
