Speed Control Cable
- To adjust cable, make adjustment shim shown. See Fig 1
. Adjustment shim should be .078" (2 mm) thick, with a slotted opening .50" (13 mm) wide.
- Adjust cable at throttle body first. Disconnect cable from cruise control actuator. Loosen cable retaining nuts on bracket at valve cover, and insert adjustment shim between bracket and nut "B". See Fig 1
. Tighten both nuts to remove all cable slack. Loosen nut "A" only enough to remove adjustment shim. Retighten nut "A" without moving nut "B".
- After throttle body end of cable has been adjusted, adjust cable at actuator. Loosen both nuts at bracket, and insert adjustment shim between bracket and nut "D". See Fig 1
. Tighten both nuts to remove all slack between throttle body end of cable. Loosen nut "C" only enough to remove adjustment shim. Retighten nut "C" without moving nut "D".
