Test F: Power Door Lock Test

  1. Lock and unlock the doors several times using the lock/unlock switch at each door. Do all the doors lock/unlock properly, and do all the lock/unlock switches operate properly? If yes, go to step  12 . If no and the locks do not work, go to TEST B: KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM INOPERATIVE  . If no and one or more locks do not function, go to next step. If no and one lock/unlock switch does not work, go to step  8 . If no and locks will only lock or unlock, go to next step.
  2. Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect the inoperative door lock actuator connector located in the driver door, passenger door, sliding door, or liftgate. Measure the voltage on the lock signal wire between the actuator connector and ground, while pressing the lock side of the door lock/unlock switch. Measure the voltage on the unlock signal wire between the actuator connector and ground, while pressing the unlock side of the door lock/unlock switch. See DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR CIRCUIT CHECK  and WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Is the voltage greater than 10 volts in each case? If yes, replace door lock actuator. See POWER DOOR LOCKS -- VILLAGER article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If no and voltage on lock wire incorrect, go to next step. If no and voltage on unlock wire incorrect, go to step  5 .
