Test G: All Doors Do Not Lock From Keypad
- Check to see that the key is not in the ignition switch. Check to see that all of the doors are securely closed. Is the key out of the ignition and are all the doors securely closed? If yes, go to next step. If no, remove the key from the ignition switch and close all of the doors securely. If doors still do not lock, go to next step.
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect the keyless entry module input and output connectors located behind the left inner kick panel. Measure the resistance between the Blue wire and ground. See TESTING DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT

Condition Resistance (Ohms) All Doors Closed Greater Than 10,000 Left Front Door Open (All Other Doors Closed) Less Than 5 Right Front Door Open (All Other Doors Closed) Less Than 5 Sliding Door Open (All Other Doors Closed) Less Than 5 Liftgate Open (All Other Doors Closed) Less Than 5 Are the resistances okay? If yes, go to step 16 . If no, go to next step.
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect the diode junction box center black diode strip located behind the instrument cluster. Disconnect the keyless entry module 20-pin input connector. Measure the resistance of the Blue door ajar wire between the keyless entry module input connector and ground. Measure the resistance of the Blue wire between the keyless entry module input connector and the diode junction box. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms between the keyless entry module input connector and ground, and less than 5 ohms between the keyless entry module input connector and the diode junction box? If yes, go to next step. If no, service Blue wire.
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect the left front door switch connector located in the left B-pillar. Disconnect the right front door switch connector located in the right B-pillar. Disconnect the keyless entry diode, located behind the right B-pillar lower trim. Disconnect the diode junction box center black diode strip. Measure the resistance of the Red/White wire between the diode junction box and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Measure the resistance of the Red/White wire between the diode junction box and the left front door switch connector, right front door switch connector and the keyless entry diode connector. Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms between the diode junction box and ground, and less than 5 ohms between the diode junction box and the left front door switch connector, right front door switch connector and the keyless entry diode connector? If yes, go to next step. If no, service Red/White wire.
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect and remove the left door switch. Disconnect and remove the right door switch. Measure the resistance of each switch between the Red/White wire terminal and the switch screw ground terminal with the switches in the released (door open) and depressed (door closed) positions. In the released position, resistances should be less than 5 Ohms. In the depressed position, resistance should be greater than 10,000 Ohms. Are the resistances okay? If yes, go to next step. If no, replace faulty door switch.
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect the sliding door switch connector located in the right B-pillar. Disconnect the keyless entry diode connector. Disconnect the keyless entry module 8-pin output connector. Measure the resistance of the Black/White sliding door ajar wire between the keyless entry module output connector and ground. Measure the resistance of the Black/White wire between the keyless entry module output connector, and the sliding door ajar switch connector and the keyless entry diode connector. Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms between the keyless entry module output connector and ground, and less than 5 ohms between the keyless entry module output connector and the sliding door switch and keyless entry diode connectors? If yes, go to next step. If no, service Black/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect and remove the sliding door switch. Measure the resistance of sliding door switch between the Black/White wire terminal and the switch screw ground terminal with the switches in the released (door open) and depressed (door closed) positions. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . In the released position, resistance should be less than 5 Ohms. In the depressed position, resistance should be greater than 10,000 Ohms. Are the resistances okay? If yes, go to next step. If no, replace faulty sliding door switch
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect the liftgate relay located behind the left quarter trim panel. Measure the resistance between the Brown/White wire terminal and the Black wire terminal on the liftgate relay. Apply battery voltage to the Brown wire terminal, and ground to the Purple wire terminal on the liftgate relay. Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms with no voltage applied and less than 5 ohms with voltage applied? If yes, go to next step. If no, replace liftgate relay. See LIFTGATE RELAY under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect the liftgate relay. Disconnect the diode junction box center black diode strip. Measure the resistance of the Brown/White wire between the diode junction box and ground. Measure the resistance of the Brown/White wire between the diode junction box and the liftgate relay connector. Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms between the diode junction box and ground, and less than 5 ohms between the diode junction box and the liftgate relay connector? If yes, go to next step. If no, service Brown/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect the liftgate relay. Measure the resistance of the Black ground wire between the liftgate relay connector and ground. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? If yes, go to next step. If no, service Black wire for open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect the liftgate relay. Measure the voltage on the Brown wire between the liftgate relay connector and ground. Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? If yes, go to next step. If no, check 15A Room fuse. If fuse is okay, then service the Brown wire for open(s). See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect the liftgate latch switch connector located in the liftgate. Disconnect the liftgate relay. Measure the resistance of the Purple-Purple/White wire between the liftgate relay connector and ground. Measure the resistance of the Purple-Purple/White wire between the liftgate relay connector and the liftgate latch switch connector. Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms between the liftgate relay connector and ground, and less than 5 ohms between the liftgate relay connector and the liftgate latch switch connector? If yes, go to next step. If no, service Purple-Purple/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect the liftgate latch switch connector. Measure the resistance of the Black ground wire between the liftgate latch switch connector and ground. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? If yes, go to next step. If no, service Black wire for open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect the liftgate latch switch connector. Measure the resistance between the Purple/White wire terminal and the Black wire terminal at the liftgate latch switch connector with the liftgate in the open and closed positions. With the liftgate in the open position, resistance should be less than 5 Ohms. With the liftgate in the closed position, resistance should be greater than 10,000 Ohms. Are the resistances okay? If yes, replace the center black diode strip of the diode junction box. See CENTER BLACK DIODE STRIP under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If no, replace the liftgate latch switch.
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect the keyless entry module 20-pin input connector. Measure the resistance between the Green wire and ground with the key in the ignition switch and with the key out of the ignition switch. With the key in the ignition switch, resistance should be less than 5 Ohms. With the key out of the ignition switch, resistance should be greater than 10,000 Ohms. Are the resistances okay? If yes, replace the keyless entry module. See KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If no, go to next step.
- Turn key to OFF position. Disconnect the ignition key reminder switch connector (the black wire on the ignition lock cylinder). Disconnect the keyless entry 20-pin input connector. Disconnect the timer module connector. Measure the resistance of the Green-Blue/Orange-Black wire between terminal No. 10 of the keyless entry module input connector and the ignition key reminder switch connector (at the ignition switch). Measure the resistance of the Green-Blue/Orange-Black wire between terminal No. 10 of the keyless entry module input connector and ground. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms between the 20-pin input connector and the ignition key reminder switch, and greater than 10,000 ohms between 20-pin input connector and ground? If yes, replace the ignition switch. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If no, service the Green-Blue/Orange-Black wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
