Pinpoint Test E - Illuminated Entry Or Beeper Does Not Function From Keypad

  1. Check 15-amp. ROOM fuse in interior fuse panel. If fuse is okay, go to step 4). If fuse is blown, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Replace fuse. Turn ignition on. Operate door lock system. Turn ignition off. Check fuse. If fuse is okay, go to step 4). If fuse is blown, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove fuse. Disconnect keyless entry beeper connector located in left front door. Measure resistance of Brown wire between right side of fuse holder and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Brown wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, reinstall fuse and reconnect keypad connector.
  4. Press any keypad button and listen for entry beeper. If beeper sounds, go to step 8). If beeper does not sound, go to next step.
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect beeper connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage of Brown wire at connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Brown wire.
  6. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 20-pin control module connector. Disconnect beeper connector. Measure resistance of Green/Yellow wire between module connector and ground. Measure resistance of Green/Yellow wire between connectors. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms between connector and ground and less than 5 ohms between connectors, go to next step. If resistances are not correct, repair Green/Yellow wire.
  7. Turn ignition off. Reconnect beeper connector. Disconnect 20-pin module connector. Connect jumper wire between Green/Yellow wire at connector and ground. If beeper operates, replace control module. If beeper does not sound, replace beeper.
  8. Open and close driver's door and check if illuminated entry system operates. If lights come on, go to next step. If lights do not come on, problem is in illuminated entry system.
  9. Turn ignition off. Disconnect timer module located behind left side cowl trim panel. Disconnect 20-pin control module connector. Measure resistance of Light Green/Black wire between module connector and ground. Measure resistance of Light Green/Black wire between module connector and timer connector. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms between connector and ground, and less than 5 ohms between connectors, replace control module. If resistances are not correct, repair Light Green/Black wire.
