Pinpoint Test G - Locks Do Not Operate From Keypad
- Ensure key is not in ignition and that all doors are securely closed. Lock doors using keypad. If doors do not lock, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Open any door, then close it. Ensure door ajar light is on with door open, and off with door closed. If light does not operate properly, repair door ajar light circuit.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Green center diode strip from diode junction box located behind instrument cluster. Disconnect 20-pin control module connector. Measure resistance of Black wire between module connector and ground. Measure resistance of Black wire between module connector and diode junction box connector. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms between connector and ground and less than 5 ohms between connectors, go to next step. If resistances are not correct, repair Black wire.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect timer module connector located behind left cowl trim panel. Disconnect 20-pin control module connector. Measure resistance of Green wire between module connector and ground with key in ignition switch, and with key removed. If resistance is less than 5 ohms with key inserted and more than 10,000 ohms with key removed, go to step 6). If resistances are not correct, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ignition key reminder switch connector. Disconnect 20-pin control module connector. Disconnect timer module connector. Measure resistance between Green wire at control module connector, and Black wire at reminder switch connector. Measure resistance of Green wire between control module connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms between connectors and more than 10,000 ohms between connector and ground, replace reminder switch. If resistances are not correct, Repair Green wire between reminder switch and control module connector.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect keypad connector in driver's door. Measure resistance between terminals listed in KEYPAD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS table. If resistances are correct, go to next step. If resistances are incorrect, replace keypad.KEYPAD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

Disconnect keypad connector in driver's door. Disconnect 20-pin control module connector. Measure resistance of all keypad connector wires, except Pink and Black, between keypad connector and module connector. Measure resistance of same wires between 20-pin module connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms between connectors and more than 10,000 ohms between connector and ground, replace control module. If resistances are different on any wire, repair that wire.
