Testing Sequence
CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in the GENERAL INFORMATION section before disconnecting battery.
When trouble shooting ABS, use test procedures in order they are presented. Using other than recommended procedure could result in wasted time and/or unnecessary replacement of parts. Recommended sequence for diagnosing system is:
- PRETEST CHECKS (visual inspection).
- SYMPTOM CHART. See Figure .
- ABS QUICK CHECK CHART. See Figure .
