Test C: Remote Anti-Theft Personality (Rap) Module Does Not Respond To NGS Tester
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect RAP module 26-pin connector C405. On coupe and sedans, RAP module is behind right rear quarter panel. On station wagons, RAP module is behind left rear quarter panel. On all models, inspect RAP module 26-pin connector C405 for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. Repair connector as necessary and retest system for normal operation. If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance of Orange/Blue wire between terminal No. 3 at RAP module connector C405 and terminal No. 7 at Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure
and Fig 1
. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace RAP module and retest system for normal operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Disconnect Black 17-pin in-line connector C222 located behind left side of instrument panel, near fuse block. See Figure
. Measure resistance of Orange/Blue wire between terminal No. 6 at in-line connector C222 and terminal No. 7 at DLC. See Figure
and Fig 2
. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair open in Orange/Blue wire between in-line connector C222 and RAP module connector C405. Retest system for normal operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Orange/Blue wire between in-line connector C222 and DLC.
