Engine Lubrication System: Notes

Oil pump is positive displacement, crankshaft driven. Oil is drawn from oil pan through an oil pick-up tube and strainer. Pump sends oil to oil filter, and from there it is directed to cylinder heads and engine block under pressure. The oil then drains back to oil pan.
