SYMPTOM CHART
| Condition |
Possible Sources |
Action |
- No communication with the Smart Junction Box (SJB)
|
- Fuse(s)
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- SJB
|
|
- The alarm system does not arm/disarm - using the Integrated Keyhead Transmitter (IKT) key
|
- IKT key concern
- Anti-theft system concern
- SJB
|
NOTE:
It may be necessary to verify the perimeter alarm system is armed by opening a door using an interior door handle after the pre-arm phase has completed. If checking the vehicle for being correctly disarmed, it is only necessary to press the unlock button on the IKT key, then open the door using an interior door handle.
- Arm the alarm system using one of the IKT keys, then disarm the alarm system using the same IKT key. Repeat this process with the second IKT key. If the alarm system arms and disarms correctly with both IKT keys, the vehicle is operating to design intent. INSTRUCT the customer on the correct operation of the vehicle and the perimeter alarm system. If the alarm system does not arm and/or disarm correctly with both IKT keys, INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to
MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES -- FUSION, MILAN & MKZ
article. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for correct operation.
