Output Test

  1. Connect oscilloscope to engine following manufacturer's instructions. Start engine. Disconnect spark plug wire from any cylinder until circuit is open.
  2. Coil output voltage should be 24,000 volts (minimum) with engine at 1000 RPM. If not, replace ignition coil. Operate engine with spark plug disconnected only long enough to get an oscilloscope reading.
