Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair


Replacing Oxygen Sensor
Special Tools Required:
^ 11 7 030

Note: Connect DIS and interrogate fault memory of EMS/DME control unit. Rectify faults and clear fault memory.

Turn ignition off.

Remove heat shield.





Disconnect connectors from retaining clips.





Remove oxygen sensors.
1. Oxygen sensor (up stream).
2. Oxygen sensor (down stream).





Install hint: Tighten oxygen sensors with special tool 11 7 030
Tightening torque: 39 Nm.

Install hint: the threads of new oxygen sensors are already coated with Never Seez Compound. If an oxygen sensor is used again, apply a thin and even coat Never Seez Compound to the thread only.

Do not clean the oxygen sensor section which protrudes into the exhaust line and ensure that it avoids all contact with lubricants.

Protect (mask) oxygen sensor when applying underseal.

Note: Connect DIS and interrogate fault memory of EMS/DME control unit. Rectify faults and clear fault memory.
