61 11 ... Replacing wiring harness at front right

NOTE: Open convertible top.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

CAUTION: Do not kink carpet!

Fold back carpet in front area.

Removal: 

Subsequent removal of the wiring harness is described separately from installation.

Remove optical fiber (2) towards rear to additional turn-signal lamp light module.

Cut through main wiring harness (1) as illustrated with sufficient excess length.

Detach cut-off main wiring harness from engine compartment and remove.

Remove supply cable (cross-section 6 mm2 ) from E box (X18326) to potential distributor (X2) (contained in repair wiring harness).

NOTE: Mark positions of cable guides and cable ties to be able to secure the repair wiring harness again identically.

Installation: 

Installation of the wiring harness is described separately from removal.

General information: 

Notes on assignment of repair connectors:

Refer to DIS under Component and signal information / plug, fan and soldered connectors / connectors from X1... / X18987B - X18996B, X19032B.

CAUTION: Risk of damage!

Do not kink additional turn-signal lamp optical fiber when installing.

Procedure:

Stick foam pads under or around repair connectors (1).

Secure repair connectors (1) using cable ties from repair kit saving as much space as possible.
