31 50... Check/change front axle differential oil

IMPORTANT: Use only the APPROVED OIL in the front axle differential.
Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious damage to the front axle differential!

NOTE: Only change oil when front axle differential is at normal operating temperature.

Checking, correcting front axle differential oil level

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove FRONT WHEEL .
Remove steering box COVER on left.

Undo oil filler plug (1).

Tightening torque 31 50 2AZ .

Check front axle differential oil level.

If necessary, top up the front axle differential oil to the lower edge of the opening for oil filler plug (1).

Installation note:

Replace the oil filler plug.

Changing front axle differential oil

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove FRONT WHEEL .
Remove steering box COVER on left.
Remove STIFFENING PLATE

Place oil collecting apparatus underneath.

Remove oil drain plug (1).

Tightening torque 31 50 2AZ .

Drain front axle differential oil.

Screw in oil drain plug (1) and tighten.

Undo oil filler plug (2).

Tightening torque 31 50 2AZ .

Pour in front axle differential oil up to lower edge of opening for oil filler plug (2).

Installation note:

Replace the oil drain plug and oil filler plug.
