37 00 ... Checking Air Spring Struts/Air Springs For Damage

NOTE: If a vehicle has been driven with depressurized air spring struts/air springs, the air spring struts/air springs must be replaced.

Lift vehicle.

Air spring strut of air spring is OK:

when the gaiter cannot be compressed by hand
when there is no discernible visible damage
when the rolling fold is uniform

NOTE: If one of the above-mentioned points fails the test, then the air spring strut or air spring must be replaced. Refer to 37 11 001 REPLACING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT AIR SPRING STRUT or 37 12 155 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR LEFT OR RIGHT AIR SPRING .
