Low-Pressure Test

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2006 BMW X5, 2005 BMW X5, 2004 BMW X5, 2003 BMW X5, and 2002 BMW X5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Perform test on both brake circuits, front and rear.
  1. Reset pedal support until line pressure in brake system is equal to 30-72 PSI (2-5 bar). Car and measuring equipment must remain perfectly still as vibrations will distort the result.
  2. Pressure should remain constant during five minute test.
  3. Check all rubber parts in case of excessive pressure drop.
  4. Bleed brake calipers after finishing test.
