Rear (E39)

  1. Unfasten screws and remove trim. See Fig 1.
  2. Before adjusting, replace disk collar nut (1) and ensure eccentric washer (2) is correctly located. See Fig 2. Tighten disk collar nut to specification. See E39  under TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.
  3. Unfasten disk collar nut 1/2 to 1 complete turn.
  4. Adjust toe-in using the eccentric screw. See Fig 3. Adjust precisely to specification. See E39  under WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS.
  5. CAUTION: If the disk collar nut is tightened down more than 10 times during adjustment, it must be replaced. The self-locking effect becomes too slight.
  6. Ensure that eccentric washer (2) is correctly located. See Fig 2. Tighten down disk collar nut (1) to specification. See E39  under TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.
