Functional description

Adjustment of the electrical exterior mirror is possible from Terminal R ON. The electrical exterior mirrors can be adjusted using the keypad in the driver's door switch block in the horizontal and vertical direction. A switch switches between the driver's side and passenger's side. It is only possible to adjust the mirror in either the horizontal or the vertical at any one time. No adjustment is possible with the exterior mirrors folded in.

The adjustment time is limited (e.g. 10 seconds) to protect the adjustment drive and the mechanisms. Once the maximum adjustment time has elapsed, it is not possible to adjust the exterior mirrors for a few seconds (e.g. 10 seconds).

The supply voltage is monitored by the corresponding control unit (e.g. FRM control unit or FEM control unit or BDC control unit).

The switch block in the driver's door is connected via LIN bus to the corresponding control unit (e.g. BDC control unit or FEM control unit or FRM control unit).

If the adjustment drive is activated, the terminal 30B connects with the corresponding electric motor.

To change the direction of movement of the adjustment drive, the direction of rotation of the corresponding electric motor is switched over. The movable housing section with the built-in mirror glass moves in the selected direction.

The adjustment drive also implements the memory function of the mirror memory. The mirror memory enables the intermediate settings to be communicated to the electronics by 2 potentiometers and stored. This enables the targeted adoption of these intermediate settings.
