Air Conditioning Compressor (Electrical): Notes
An electrically-powered air conditioning compressor is used. The air conditioning compressor (electric) is operated at high voltage. Therefore, the necessary power can be supplied.
With the (electrical) air conditioning compressor, it is possible to operate the heating and air conditioning system even when the engine is switched off.
The IHKA control unit is the master control unit (the IHKA is the integrated automatic heating and air-conditioning system). The IHKA control unit communicates with the control electronics of the (electrical) air conditioning compressor via the LIN bus.
The control electronics and voltage transformer are integrated in the housing of the air conditioning compressor. Both are cooled by the refrigerant as it flows by. The request of the IHKA control unit is evaluated in the control electronics. The voltage transformer converts the DC voltage into AC voltage. The air conditioning compressor is driven by AC voltage.
